Kathy Fredrickson has taught marketing and advertising courses at UWOshkosh since 2002. She served as an advisor to the 2003, 2005,2007 and 2008 National Student Advertising Competition teams. The 2003 and 2008 teams placed first in District 8, qualifying them for national competitions in Washington D.C. and Atlanta.
Fredrickson believes in fostering collaboration with Wisconsin-based businesses, helping students gain experience they can leverage when interviewing for their first positions after college. Her students have created, developed and presented campaigns to Carmex (Franklin, Wisconsin), Sargento (Plymouth) and Cedar Crest Ice Cream (Cedarberg).
Her involvement with UW-Oshkosh extends beyond teaching as well. From 2004-2011, she served as Director of Development and Marketing for the College of Business and was recognized for her strategic communications with a Case V Best View Book Silver Award. Her fundraising efforts led to the creation of the MBA Center in Green Bay.
Fredrickson has over two decades of professional experience as a director and strategist in branding, marketing, fundraising and business development. After ten years in the agency world, she started her own consulting firm, Imark, providing marketing strategy, public relations and social media services. Her work has helped organizations develop distinctive positions in highly competitive industries, including technology, manufacturing, insurance and health care.
Fredrickson earned her a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and a bachelor’s of business degree in marketing from UW-Whitewater. She is the co-founder of Women in Technology – Wisconsin and serves on the Board of Directors for the Neenah Soccer Club.
